What is a Car Motability Scheme?

The Car Motability Scheme is an all-inclusive lease package, which allows anyone in receipt of a higher rate Motability allowance to lease a brand new vehicle of their choice.

Ford has been the largest supplier of vehicles to Motability since 2012, delivering more than 37,000 vehicles to Motability customers last year. We account for almost one in five of the vehicles delivered via the Motability scheme, which was set up to help disabled people, their families and carers become mobile.

How do I know if I am eligibile?

Whether you choose to drive or nominate a carer or family member, and you receive any of the following allowances with at least 12 months remaining you could qualify.

These are:

• Higher Rate Mobility Component of the Disability Living Allowance (HRMC-DLA)
• Enhanced Rate Mobility Component of the Personal Independence Payment (ERMC PIP)
• Armed Forces Independence Payment (AFIP)
• War Pensioners’ Mobility Supplement (WPMS)

We understand customers may feel that because their disability is not visible, the scheme may not apply to them. This is not the case, the scheme is fully inclusive, regardless of the type of disability.
